Advertiser and Lending Disclosure

We are a free service that connects borrowers with lenders. We are not a lender, and lenders, not we, set every rate, term and approval decision.

On this page

01

We are not a lender

We operate a loan matching service and are not a lender, broker or financial advisor; we do not make credit decisions, fund loans or collect payments.

When you submit a request, we share it with lenders and lending partners that may be able to offer you a personal loan between $500 and $5,000. Any loan you receive is made by a lender under its own agreement with you. We are not a party to that agreement.

02

How we are paid

Lenders and lending partners pay us compensation when we connect them with borrowers, which may be paid when a request is shared, when a borrower is contacted or when a loan is funded.

That compensation is how we keep the service free for you. We never charge borrowers a fee to submit a request, view offers or decline offers. No lender should ask you to pay us, and anyone who does is not acting for our service.

03

How compensation can affect what you see

Compensation can influence which lenders receive your request, which offers appear and the order in which they are shown, so the offers you see are not every option available in the market.

Our network does not include every lender, and some lenders may receive your request before others based on our business agreements as well as your profile. We encourage you to compare any offer you receive with options from your bank, credit union or other lenders before you accept.

04

What compensation does not change

Compensation never changes the price of your loan, never adds a fee for you and never influences our editorial guides, which are written independently of lender partners.

  • Lenders set rates and terms using their own criteria; we cannot raise or lower them.
  • You pay no fee to us at any stage.
  • Our writers are not paid based on which lender a reader chooses.
  • Lenders do not review or approve our articles before they are published.
05

Rates, terms and representative example

Annual percentage rates through lenders in our network commonly range from about 5.99% to 35.99%, with terms from roughly 6 to 36 months, and your actual offer depends on the lender, your credit and your state.

Representative example: a $2,000 personal loan at 19.99% APR over 24 months would cost about $101.78 a month, $2,442.76 in total. Actual rates and terms are set by the lender and depend on your credit profile and state.

Submitting a request does not guarantee an offer or approval. Some lenders charge an origination fee, which is included in the APR and usually deducted from the loan proceeds. Late or missed payments can bring fees and may be reported to credit bureaus, which can lower your credit score.

06

Availability varies by state

Loan availability, amounts, rates and terms vary by state, and not every lender in our network operates in every state, so some borrowers may see fewer offers or none at all.

State laws set limits on interest rates, fees and loan sizes, and lenders must hold any licenses their state requires. If no lender can serve your state for the amount you request, you will not receive an offer through our service.
